Grace For Your Day 12-22-11
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."
What an unbelievable statement God makes in this passage! Really? The God of the universe wants to talk to me? No way! Actually, yes He does. Have you ever had a conversation with someone who is much smarter than you? I have more times than not, but some people have the ability to make you feel even dumber, while others have the capacity to lift you up and you actually feel like an intelligent part of the conversation. I can't even begin to imagine how much God has to "come down" to my level, and how much He must have to "lift me up" so that I can begin to reason together with Him! What an awesome God we serve! And what is it that he wants to talk about anyway? The very thing that seems to drive us from His presence......sin. And what does He want to tell us about our sin? Well, He says that they have left a very dark stain, but because we came to Him, He has applied the best stain remover known to man......His own blood! I sure am glad that I took the time to talk with Him.

This scripture reveals a very intimate side of God. His words are the words of a father to his child. Not allowing anything to keep them apart from each other, God the Father initiates a conversation with His beloved child. I can feel the love coming through those words every time I read them. God has the heart of a father. I am a father now and I can understand what it's about. I love my children so much I cannot even think about something in between us, seperating us even for a second! What God does for us is so extreme and so huge it's beyond us. But He does reveal these things to us if we are willing to take His lead and talk to Him. More will come as we grow closer in intimacy.
