GFYD 12-21-11
Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
Changes are happening everywhere and all the time. Some changes are good, like the meeting that says you are being promoted to new position with better pay and benefits. Some changes are awful, like the doctor's appointment when he says "there is nothing that we can do". There is one thing for sure........new doesn't always mean better. Sometimes the new thing that comes into our lives can send us into tail spin that is hard to recover from. That's why our Scripture today is so powerful. Out of all of the things that can suddenly change in our life, there is One who never changes......Jesus! He is faithful, always. He just, always. He is love, always. Get the point? Do you need some stability in your life today? Well, the search ends here. Look to Jesus. There is a reason that He is called the rock. He is the rock, a steady source of provision for God's people. He is the rock that is higher than me when my heart is overwhelmed. He is the rock, my shelter and strong tower. He is unchanging, and that's just what I need right now. Amen.

I am so grateful that Jesus never changes. That gives me hope that when everything is falling apart I know that Jesus will be there. Jesus will not stop loving me because He developed a drinking habit and abused me. He want forget about me because of another that He finds more willing to do His will. He was without sin and cant change so He never will! He didn't give up on Peter because he denied Jesus three times, so He cant change and won't give up on me! Jesus is the rock that I stand on so I won't loose my footing and stumble from life to death!
