2 Corinthians 3:5 "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God"
Have you ever had a problem with pride? Of course you have, and so have I. Have you ever really thought about how ridiculous it is to ever be proud! I mean really, think about this for a minute. The Bible says that "in Him we live and move and exist", in other words......we can't do anything without Him! He created us, He breathed life into us, He sustains us. Our food comes from Him, our possessions come from Him, our air comes from Him, the balance and position of the solar system that causes the little planet that we live on to provide an atmosphere for life is His doing! And to think that I can have the audacity at times to be proud and think that I can do anything apart from Him is absolutely absurd! It would be like my 4 year old daughter saying "dad, I don't need you anymore, I can handle it from here." I guess that this is the reason that the Bible puts pride on the list of things that God hates. And I haven't even mentioned the fact that Jesus died on a cross to pay the price for all of my sins. I have heaven because of what He did! Let us come to know today and every day that everything we have is because of Him, and we can do nothing apart from Him, and we need Him now more than ever before. Amen.
Blessed are the poor in spirit. When I first came to the place that I could say that I am nothing without God in my life, I saw a brand new world! I began to see more clearly than ever before. I found peace with self and with God. Real peace that would last! I also found strength that I didn't have before. Inner strength from God that would last forever and would cause me to able to live,REALLY LIVE!! There have been times since that pride has showed up and I lost the peace and the strength that God gives. But He was willing to give it all back when I was willing to let go of my prideful ways and admitt that I can do nothing apart from Him. I am truely bless to know that I am poor in spirit!
