Mark 10:15 "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
Imagine with me for a moment as a little child walks up to Jesus....no reservations, no preconceived fears or doubts. Looking up to Him, the child would think "He is big and I am little. He is strong and I am weak. He will hold me in His arms and I will be safe. He will know what to do." The little child would expect Him to care, expect Him to take care of things. The little child would know that He is wiser and stronger. This why for some, that growing older means growing farther away from Him. Growing older means no longer needing Him for wisdom and direction. Growing older means they now question things that they never before questioned like His faithfulness, grace and love. I think that it would do us all lot of good today to return to the child-like faith that we used to know. I hope that I never grow up too much to believe in the greatness of Jesus! Amen.
I have to say that growing up I had a mom and a dad that took care of me. They took me to school, feed me, and put clothes on me and feed me when I was hungry. There were times that they fell short of my expectations that I put on them . They also made mistakes along the way. Some were very hurtful and damaging. These mistakes lead to a disfunction within my mind and heart. Jesus will and never can make mistakes like these. Jesus was tempted and was without sin! Jesus can only do good to me! I find it difficult at times to see that but God is still God no matter what I think or do! He loves me anyway, showing me that He will not condenm me for my mistakes. I love Him for that.
