Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne…
There is a debate about exactly who these twenty-four elders are, but there is no debate that they are very important figures here. They are called elders, they have thrones, and they have crowns………but notice what they do in the presence of Jesus. They fall down, and they take their crowns off and lay them at the feet of the Lord. This demonstrates the truth that God deserves all the glory. Have you ever seen a turtle on a fence post? There is one thing for sure, the turtle didn’t get there by himself……he had help! That is a picture of us. We are helpless and hopeless on our own, but God has lifted us up and seated us in heavenly places. Now we are more than conquerors because of Him. The longer that I live, the more I realize that I have very little to do with the good things that come out of my life…….all the glory belongs to the Lord. There will come a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. I choose to confess that truth right now. Amen
