Ephesians 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is
God desires for us to walk in wisdom, knowing what God’s will is for our lives, but God never tells us to do something without showing us how to do it. So how can I know what the will of God is? In your study time today, read the next few verses of Ephesians 5, but let me try and give you the highlights. The way to wisdom is to be filled with the Spirit. Paul says not to be drunk with wine, but to be filled with God’s Spirit. When someone is under the influence of alcohol, they get stupid. If you don’t believe it, watch a few minutes of the cop shows on television. On the contrary, to be filled, or under the influence of the Holy Spirit, is be guided by the wisdom and will of God. Paul goes on to tell us the way to be filled with the Sprit. It’s actually pretty simple; just fill your mouth with His praises. As we fill our mouth and heart with the praises of God, He fills our heart and soul with His Holy Spirit. Praise is powerful on many different levels, but now you know that praise is the key to being filled with His Spirit which is the key to wisdom, and knowing the will of God for your life…. Now start singing! Amen
