Care Like Nehemiah

Nehemiah 1:4 When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven. When Nehemiah heard that the walls of Jerusalem were torn down, he wept. He cared about it, a lot. The broken walls and gates broke his heart. He had to do something, so he started by fasting and praying. The end result would be a restoration of the city, but it began with a deep brokenness that desperately wanted to see healing and repair. How do you feel when you see others hurting? How do you respond to a great need that seems impossible? No one wants to have a broken heart, but anything or anyone that we really love will bring tears from time to time. When was the last time that you shed tears for someone who was lost? When was the last time that you wanted to see God move so much that it rendered you broken? God help us to care like Nehemiah.
