His Battle

2 Chronicles 20:15 He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. The right perspective makes all the difference. Yes it was a mighty army. Yes the enemy was determined to destroy them. Yes, no one else had been able to stand against them and succeed. But that's only when you look at the situation through the eyes of man. Heaven's perspective was much different. No, that mighty army is no match for the Almighty. No, what the enemy has determined to do will not happen. No, God's people will not be defeated like the other nations were! Now with Heaven's perspective we can understand why God says "do not be afraid", and "don't be discouraged"! How do we get heaven's perspective? The first step is to realize who the battle belongs to. We mess up when we take our battles personally. Any real battle that we face is really not us against the enemy. It's really the enemy against God. Knowing that the battle belongs to The Lord frees me up to stand firm without fear, and gives me a great anticipation of the joy of victory even while the battle is raging. So stop labeling the battle, the trial, the sickness, or the struggle as "yours".......the battle belongs to The Lord, and He has won!
