Acting Right

2 Chronicles 19:9 These were his instructions to them: “You must always act in the fear of the LORD, with faithfulness and an undivided heart. These are truly words of wisdom. We would do very well if every action of ours was fueled by a reverent fear of The Lord. It's when we are casual and complacent in our thoughts that we are prone to making poor decisions, and acting upon them. Every sin starts with a thought, and then left unchecked becomes transgression against His Word. A healthy dose of Godly fear will distinguish the thoughts before they grow into destructive behavior. Our actions should also be the result of a faithful heart that is undivided. This is a heart that has Christ as the first love, and every other love flowing from His Spirit within us. Whatever and whoever God has commanded us to love, He will empower us to love. To love Him first does not hinder or take away love from a spouse, a child, or even an enemy. Instead, to love Him with an undivided heart opens up an endless and unlimited supply of Christ-like love to give. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit would enable us to live before Him in awe of Him, faithfully and completely.
