Wild Emotions
2 Samuel 6:14
And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
After trying to do the right thing in the wrong way, David finally brought the ark to Jerusalem in the way that God had prescribed. It was a time of great celebration, and David led the party. He took off his royal clothes, and with merely the clothing of a commoner, he danced like a fool over the return of the ark. Reading this passage causes me to realize that God's presence does arouse our emotions, and there is nothing wrong with that. Some are quick to judge radical praise by classifying it as emotionalism, but didn't God give us emotions when He created us? Doesn't our emotions rise up to the surface when something brings us great joy, sorrow, or even anger? Why then should emotions be banned when it comes to our adoration of Christ? There is a time to be reverent, no doubt, but there are also times when the Spirit stirs our emotions and that's nothing to be ashamed of. The next time the Sprit of the Lord comes upon you, go ahead and dance like David did!

I am fully convinced that dancing and pouring out our emotions to God pleases Him tremendously! It is also very contagious too! Sometimes when real praise gets stirred up , people find it easier to connect to God. Maybe someone is holding on to something that God wants them to let go of and they are able to because of the real genuine praise of another!
