God the Builder
2 Samuel 7:11
And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
It was in David's heart to build a house for the Lord. It was his passion. The Lord's response must have blown David away. God said "You're not gonna build me a house, I'm going to build a house for you"! God promised to give Israel a place of rest and protection. A place where wickedness and wicked people could not touch them. Did you know that God has made the same promise to us? God has declared that our bodies have become the temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in (1 Corinthians 6:19). In other words, God has made a house in you and for you where His righteousness can live! Although my earthly house of flesh may not be much to brag about, it is actually a vessel that houses the Spirit of the Creator of this universe. Not only that, but He is also preparing an eternal place of residence for us where we will be with Him forever (John 14:2-3). These things are so much more than we deserve. Let us never cease to thank Him for His goodness.

I am totally blown away when I realize that God is living inside of me. Who am I that You should come and make your home with me? After all I have said and done, you still call me yours! Gratitude rises within me!
