Nothing to Use

Judges 14:6 And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done. This wasn't an old and feeble lion, and it wasn't a baby cub. This was a young lion, strong and ferocious. This lion chose the wrong person to roar against! Samson tore him to pieces, but the most amazing part of the passage to me is that he "had nothing in his hand". With Moses, God used the staff in his hand, and later with Samson, God will use a donkey's jawbone to defeat a Philistine army. But here, there is nothing external to hold onto. Maybe that's what God intends for us sometimes. Maybe it's when we can't lean upon anything else, that we will surrender to Him completely and have the Lord come mightily upon us. I pray that God will use what you have when you have something, and when you have nothing to use, He will simply use you in a mighty way!
