God Heard

1 Samuel 1:20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord. The name Samuel means "God heard". It's an amazing concept to believe that the Creator of the universe actually hears us when we pray. It's more than a concept.......it's a fact! Hannah was barren, but she prayed for God to open her womb. She promised that she would give the child to the Lord all the days of his life. God knew her heart, and He answered her prayer. Hannah kept her word to the Lord, and Samuel became a mighty man of God. I can't help but think that every time Hannah looked at her son in the temple doing God's work, she remembered God's grace toward her. No doubt that every time she called his name, she was encouraged to remember that God heard her. She had a walking, talking, prophesying reminder of God's willingness to listen to and answer the prayers of His children. When you get up from your time of prayer today, know by faith that every word was heard by Him.
