Don't Be Foolish
1 Samuel 13:13
And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
To obey God is always the right thing to do, no matter what. Saul's decision to go against God's command was not only foolish, but it also carried a very harsh penalty. It was the beginning of the end of his reign as king. As king, he was responsible for leading the nation to trust God's guidance and rely on God's power. When Saul took the matter into his own hands, he was saying that he knew better than God, which is foolish to say the least. We too have a tremendous responsibility to lead our families to trust and depend upon God, even when it means waiting patiently for His Word to be fulfilled. We must remember that God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19), and He will keep His Word every time. We should rather look foolish by trusting Him, than to be foolish by going it alone.

I know i can't go it alone and I find myself lost in "foolishness" trying to do so. I know God will stand behind His promises and take care of me. He has proven it countless times but why do I still find it so hard to trust? The reality of it is that I have put my trust in man so many times leading to hurt, lies and disappointments. He will keep his word but in His time. That is where I tend to lose faith. Waiting, being still. I have to pray daily about trust and patience. God has got me, I just need to have faith and stand on that promise. He's an on time God, yes he is!!!
