Sovereign God

Joshua 11:20 20 For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. Our God is sovereign. He is completely in control, even in the midst of chaos. Although we know this to be true, we sometimes don't feel as if it's true, and other times we forget that it's true. I would rather be at peace than at war, but there are battles that are ordained of God. I would love for the devil to stay away from me and my family, but God opens up the hedge of protection sometimes and I don't like it! I don't like it, but God sees fit to let it happen because He's up to something much bigger than my personal comfort level. I'm not sure how it happens but perhaps the enemy gets a little too proud by pouncing on those whom he may devour (1Peter 5:8), and God sovereignly sends him your way to not only build your faith, but to also crush his head! If the devil is raging in your life causing all sorts of havoc, be bold and courageous because God has hardened his heart so that He might destroy him!

  1. Yes we are supposed to be bold and take authority in the name of JESUS. But so often good christians will confess before thinking and praying, oh the devil attacked me and i got sick, or the devil made me loose my job,,, The devil can do nothing to us unless we allow it. He can only put thoughts in our minds. If we are careful with our mouth we can just refuse him and his thoughts, not give him permission in our lives. Let his attacks be destroyed by GOD.Amen

  2. I like destroying the devil. He hates us and wants to destroy us every second of every day! I don't like the fact that God allows the enemy to attack us either but we must be ready, it's for the good! We can believe that God is sovereign! This will give way to hope that doesn't disappoint us! Victory can be ours by faith. Faith comes by hearing the word. The more we read the more faith we have. The more faith we have the stronger we are in our resolve for victory. Let us read and speak what we read back to God. It's the only way!
