Can't Curse

Numbers 23:8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied? The plan was a simple. The king of Moab wanted Balaam to issue a curse against God's people. It was a simple plan, but there was one big problem.....they were God's people! Balaam had no choice but to speak the words that God placed in his mouth, and those words were words of blessing. There are a couple of things to learn here: First, you can't curse what God has blessed! As much as the enemy may try, if God has given favor, nothing or no one else can change that. That means so much to us because we are a "chosen generation" and a "holy nation" according to 1 Peter 2:9. These blessings were given to us by God, and whenever the devil tries to condemn or discourage, we can hold onto the irrevocable blessings of God. Secondly, this passage speaks of the power that our words possess. Words are so powerful that God saw fit to speak these words of blessings over His chosen people. Perhaps there are areas of our own life that God sovereignly allows us to bless or curse with our words. I am a firm believer that words can change things for the better, and for the worse. If someone makes it a habit to always speak words of doubt and pessimism, you will notice that it will eventually make a difference in their facial features.......a permanent frown. I pray that you will live with the assurance of God's blessings, and that you will also speak life into every specific circumstance and place! God bless you!
