Equipped for the Job

Exodus 31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

After God gave the instructions to build the tabernacle, He enlightened the children of Israel with an incredible revelation. He had given talents and gifts to the people to carry out specific tasks that were needed to make it all happen. Just think about it, when that little baby Hebrew boy was born in Egypt, his parents noticed something interesting about him. He seemed to have a strong desire to shape things and mold things. Maybe as a young boy he would take rocks and make sculptures, or he would take sticks and carve in them. He just loved to do it. It was his passion. Little did they know that their little man would one day be building a tabernacle for God! It wasn't just Moses who was given the inner wiring and DNA that would make him a man with the abilities needed for what his life would become. God does that for everyone! The people had every material needed for the construction and service of the tabernacle, and they had every talent and temperament needed for the construction and service of the tabernacle. The same is true for all of us. We were born with a God-given purpose, and have been equipped by our Creator to fulfill that purpose. His church, the body of Christ, has everything it needs to function and grow into His marvelous bride. It is up to us, however, to get off of the sidelines and put our gifts to work! If you aren't serving in your gifts and passion, it isn't just you who suffers. I pray today that God will stir up the gift that is within you, and that you become an active member of the body of Christ.

  1. You know it can be really scarey to be used by God, especially when we have to be in front of groups of people. I know the fear and anxiety that can cause a vessel of God to not want to give it all they've got! But, I also know the blessing of doing it anyway! After I got done with it, I got better and better with it each time. We just need to feel our feelings and just do it no matter what!
