"Obstacles and Opportunities" 4-23-12

"Obstacles and Opportunities"

Exodus 14:29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

Did you catch what just happened? The waters became a wall to their right and to their left. What was once their obstacle, became a guide to lead them safely across! God definitely has a way of using our obstacles to help us, but we, like the children of Israel, must be willing to stand still and let God move the obstacles for us. When God opened up the sea, there was no doubt about which way they should go. It was a no brainer! God's people walked safely across on dry ground. But God wasn't through using this obstacle to help them, because the same wall of water was used by God for the enemy, but with an entirely different purpose. Pharaoh's armies also walked between these enormous walls of water, but before they could make it out, the walls of water collapsed on top of them. There were no survivors. What obstacles seem to be limiting your forward progress today? Wait on God, and give Him the chance to use that obstacle to take you to another level!

  1. I am always just blown away by the Israelites in the book of Exodus. They seen not by faith alone but with their very eyes the work and power of almighty God, yet they continued to doubt, grumble, and complain when obstacles appeared in their path. Let their example of unbelief and the result of that unbelief motivate us to believe in The God who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think. For with God there are really never any obstacles only opportunities for God to reveal His power and His Glory.

    1. Yes bro. Billy but aren't we the same way...no matter how much we see the hand of God move in our life when the obsticle (wall of doubt, persuction, sickness ect. ) come our way we stupidly wonder if "God will" heavens yes He will and more than that He wants too! the case senario of the Israelites is to show us that GOD WILL even in the midst of all our doubts and fears. The blessing is that we grow through the obstacles. Diane

  3. Usually it's my mind and emotions thats the greatest obstacle for me. Maybe it takes longer than I thought for the chemicals in my mind to level back out. Or maybe there is damage from drug use. It's makes me want to cry just thinking about it sometimes. Call me what you will I don't have the pride to care enough! But, God tells me that I am perfect! Most of the time I can laugh at myself and see God use me anyway. I wait and serve while I do, and oneday I will be rid of this corrupt temporary body! Oh! Praise You Jesus!
