Exodus 15:13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
Chapter 15 of the book of Exodus contains a song that was written by Israel after they crossed the Red Sea, and watched God deliver them once and for all from the Egyptians. This song would be a reminder for generations to come of God's mighty power to save. Even today, thousands of years later, it still has an incredible impact on those who read it. This portion of the song states that God redeemed His people, and then led them with mercy toward the promised land. This should serve as a reminder to us that when God redeems us, He doesn't leave us to ourselves. He leads us, and He leads us with mercy. I thank God for His mercy while leading, because I haven't always been the best follower. There have been times when I chose to complain instead of follow and trust Him, but in His mercy, He would not abandon me. Instead, He keeps leading me to a deeper level of faith. Have you been redeemed? If so, you are a special possession to God, and His plans for you were not just to deliver from bondage, but also to lead you to life!

Since I've been saved, I've had a heart to make it to the "promised land", the place God has predestined me to be. The problem is that I've wanted to lead the way. I'm not very patient sometimes when it comes to following God. I want to determine when and even where I arrive. But God who is so very patient and merciful gently yet sternly leads me by the hand teaching me that His timing is perfect as well as All His ways. Let us take heart to know that God is merciful (thankfully) and He will FINISH the work He started in us. Thank you Jesus!!!
