"I AM" 4-9-12

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Moses, after hearing the mission, asked God what would be an expected question "Who do I tell them is sending me?" After all, Moses would soon be standing before Pharaoh, the most powerful person in the world. With the words "I AM", Moses quickly moved Pharaoh to second place! For God to proclaim Himself as the I AM had huge implications. It was God declaring that He was eternal, and that makes Him sovereign, and above everything and everyone. Jesus would again echo these words when He told the Jews "before Abraham was, I AM." He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. In other words, with those two words God was saying "Moses, go ahead and do what I've asked of you, because I've already seen the end result. My people will come out of Egypt, and they will enter into the promised land!" Now, of course we know that there were a lot of details that God didn't reveal about the mission, but the ending was set. What has the I AM said about you! Have you looked into His Word to find out? It would be well worth the investment, because whatever the I AM says that I am, I am going to count on it!

  1. "I AM" ...... Jesus is truly the great I AM!! Personally for me I take heart in the fact that He is Soverign. His sovereignty tells me that He is in control no matter what, and that to me is comforting.

  2. I like the fact that He is everything and anything that I need. All I need is the Lord God Almighty! That's it, yoy can take away my wife and children, my money, my clothes but you can't take away my God!
