"I" 4-6-12

Exodus 3:11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

It doesn't take long to see what's wrong with this picture does it? When God told Moses all that He was going to do through him to deliver Israel, Moses responded with several "I"'s. Moses said who am "I", that "I" should go, and that "I" should bring. No wonder Moses told God that Aaron would be better for the job! Moses would soon find out that this mission was all about God, and what He would do. Yes, God would use Moses, but it was God's deal, and even when Moses was gone, God tagged Joshua and said "you're it"! If God has asked us to do something, but we respond we "but I", it reveals that our focus is misguided. God can and will perform His purposes, and He won't even be hindered by your weakness. In fact, your weakness will open the door for His strength to become evident to all. If you don't believe me, just ask the stuttering Moses, who boldly declared to Pharaoh to let God's people go! At first, Pharaoh didn't take Moses that seriously, but it didn't take him long to see that there was a big God behind the words of Moses. The same is true with us. I might be a little "me", but my God is a big "He", and if He says I can.......then I CAN!

  1. In 1976 I was in Lakeland Fl. and I rented a house from a missionary. She told me one of the most important things I ever learned; "I can't"
She would always say "I can't never can do anything" it's not very good gramer but it is a truth to live by. I and a negitive is not what God teaches through the ages. Lets have a nike moment today and say; I CAN.

  2. What's really cool about this scripture is when Moses told God that he couldn't do it, God continued to encourage him. I am so greatful that when I am insecure God doesn't give up and leave me in that condition, He speaks to me and strengthens me with courage! God's word is overflowing with hope, love and strength for all who believes "on" Him. I am practicing everyday, just like my baby girl, to walk with the Lord. One day soon she will be running just like her brothers, and so will I be running the race of faith! Just believe!
