"Go Ahead and Dream" 3-27-12

Genesis 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

It all began with a dream. God planted a vision within Joseph that would help him persevere all the way to the palace. It's amazing how we can see the sovereignty of God in the life of Joseph. The same dream that made his brothers envious enough to get rid of Joseph also gave Joseph a reason to endure, and in it's fulfillment become the salvation of his family. For many years in the life of Joseph, it would appear that the dream was the result of eating pizza at midnight, but no, it was a God-given dream that would come to pass in God's time. What dreams has God given you? Have you given up because it doesn't seem possible? Have you quit because no one else was on board with what He put in your heart! Just remember, if God is for you, that is all that matters. I would rather have God supporting my vision and no one else, than to have everyone on my side but Him. But don't worry, if God is the source of your dreams, He will put the right players in your life just as he did for Joseph (his brothers, Potipher, the baker, the cup bearer, and Pharoah). Don't let your current circumstances cloud your faith, and remember that He is faithful always. Go ahead and dream.

  1. I'm not real sure about what dreams God has given me. I can't really say that I have any. Sometimes I dream about my next sermon or singing a song at church. I am confident in my future but I haven't received any dreams about it. Maybe I need to start asking for dreams from the Lord. Lord, show me whatever You want me to see!in Jesus' name
