Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
How did God see Abraham? As a righteous man. Why? Because Abraham believed in the Lord. Faith is the key to our standing before God. Are Christians called to live holy, Godly, righteous lives? Yes. Can they do it without faith? Absolutely not! Someone might say "the Bible does say that without holiness no one will see the Lord", and this is true, but don't forget that it is impossible to please God without faith. But what about James when he declares that faith without works is dead? Well, he is exactly right, faith without the fruit of faith was not faith to begin with, because faith will always produce. Always. The book of Hebrews tells us of many who did great things for the kingdom, and they all accomplished their various victories "by faith". So where does faith come from? This is what might surprise you.........faith comes from God! God will build your faith if you will ask Him to. You won't be surprised, however, in the way that He will build it. God's Word is the ultimate source of faith. The living, breathing Word of God will always produce faith in us. As a pastor, I know that every Sunday there are people who desperately need God's Word to revive their faith, but many still refuse to acknowledge the tremendous power that is available through the reading, preaching, teaching, and hearing of His Word. God also uses our experiences to build our faith and trust in Him. Just like a palm tree that grows under the strain of the wind, only to prepare it for the mighty hurricane, God also allows us to face the daily strains and battles so that we might anchor our roots deep by the water and not be moved. What is your weakness today? Morality, Complacency, Bitterness, Confusion, Depression, or Fear? I would argue that none of these are to blame. Start with FAITH. It is God's way.
It used to be in my life that when times where rough I'd just give up or give in to every kind of trouble that I've gotten myself into.Now by the grace of God thourgh faith I stand amazed at what God has done in my life.I just can't wait to see what God does next. SO WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS JUST STAND AND SEE THE SAVATION OF GOD WORK IN YOUR LIFE TO!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes as we learn Faith-God will feed us-Faith-God will heal us-faith-God loves us-Faith- Every good thing comes from God and God alone- Even simple Faith as of a child the Word says. To have that child-like Faith in God again, Thank You Jesus ken
ReplyDeleteAh, to believe or not to believe, this is the question! What pain at times to endure, what patience must be used? Oh, but what rewards for having stood by faith no matter what! What benifits awaits those that would only stop using everything else but faith in Christ to get them through! Who can understand His precepts, who can know His riches, the man who lives by faith can! I choose to BELIEVE!
