"Count on It" 3-19-12

Genesis 21:1 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

Was there ever any doubt? Maybe a little......but there shouldn't have been. How did Sarah respond the first time that she heard God say that she would have a son in her old age? She laughed, and then denied that she laughed! Not exactly a model to go by, but it was a natural response to what would have to be an incredible miracle. But when the time was right, her laughing was turned into labor pains, which probably transitioned back into laughing! God actually did it.........Isaac was here! God has an amazing batting average when it comes to following through with His Word. It's a perfect 1000! His Word has never missed. He has never spoken it, without it coming to pass. If God said it, and it hasn't happened, it's only a matter of time. The promises of God are always"yes and amen". Open up your Bible today and find you a few promises to hold onto. You will not be disappointed!

  1. I appreciate this truth. I count on God for so much and it's really hard at times.Like this specific promise to Sarah, sometimes God's promises stretch me in the most tender spots. I can just imagine what could have went through her mind, "not this, I'm old and barren for many years, don't hit this nerve please!" It's not easy being the chosen people of God, but it's is fun, exciting and very rewarding!
