Genesis 24:1 Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
I am convinced that we limit God in more ways than we could possibly imagine. I am not a "prosperity preacher", or at least not to the extent of others who proudly wear the label. I don't believe that every cold or every tough situation is born out of a lack of faith. The Bible clearly teaches that God allows His people to go through the pains and trials of life sometimes, but He uses those situations to mold us and make us into stronger and wiser people. Having said that, I do believe that we can blessed "in all things", just like Abraham. Why not? Is God a respecter of persons? I guess that one of the biggest hindrances for us is our definition of "blessed". For most, money tops the list when it comes to blessings that are coveted, but is that how God would define a "blessed life"? There is no doubt that Abraham was blessed with wealth, but Abraham was told by God that he was blessed to be a blessing. Abraham was showing the pagans around him the goodness of God and the rewards of faith and faithfulness. I would argue though that wealth was not the greatest of Abraham's blessings. No doubt Abraham would have traded all of his wealth for his son, Isaac. No doubt that Abraham treasured his close fellowship with God far above any of his valuable possessions. And it's just like God to bless in "all things" those who value Him above "all things". I don't know where God might be on your list of coveted blessings, but I know where He should be!
Blessed in all things,we should all be able to say that even our hardest case...sure sounds good,I miss the great moments of Gods advisement not that I wait wanting this with my troubles,

3:9 thank you Jesus for keeping us all
I agree God is my greatest blessing, just knowing Him. Paul said it best in one of his books, that though he was a big wig in the world, he counted it all as lose just to know Him! I do appreciate the gifts from His hands but being closer to Him is so much better.
