GFYD 2-7-12

I APOLOGIZE FOR THE LACK OF VIDEOS RECENTLY, I DO NOT PLAN TO DISCONTINUE THEM. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE WITH ME!

1Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Temptation is a normal part of life. The question is not "will you be tempted?". The question is "will you be ready?". The first part of being ready is to accept that temptations will come. You will never grow old enough, wise enough, or good enough to not have to face temptation in some area. I have overcome temptation in one area in my life before only to realize that a new one came to the surface. So don't be ignorant to the fact that you will face temptation. Jesus did, and that should tell us all that we need to know. Secondly, take the "I can't" out of your vocabulary. You are God's child! You can, because He did, and He will through you! Thirdly, don't put yourself in situations that make you more vulnerable to failure. If integrity is still an issue, be cautious about when and where you are alone. Don't set yourself up for undue pressure by surrounding your self with people who don't share your convictions concerning Godliness. Finally, don't ever take too much credit for your success. Falling hard is what we do when we become proud. Just remember, if the sovereign God has allowed the temptation to face you, then your sovereign Lord has already prepared your way of escape.

  1. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is COMMON to man...... We are not the ONLY ones facing whatever it may be we are facing. It feels that way many times but that is a lie from satan. Although that is not the good news, the good news is that God IS FAITHFUL who will not allow us to be tempted above that which we are able to bear, and think about this..... If God is with us and in us we are able to withstand anything that tries to temp us or lure us away!!! God is bigger!!

  2. If I was not tempted I would not be alive. But with God all things are possible including being an overcomer. In my past when hearing a testimony of how God brought someone thru temptations. To realize that I was not alone in my transgressions. So oftem we think we are the only one. Guilty myself. But putting on the armor of God daily will protect us. Drug temptations seem to be easy to overcome with Gods help in the past, but even now when I go out to eat allways the sweet tooth is there saying just a little more, even though I should not. I give in to the overindulgance then am sinning again but God forgives me. To be able to walk without being tempted is a daily praise in Jesus name. Just a note- Glad to hear your input Matthew-

  4. Thanks brother Ken! I am greatful to God for this word. To know that He would protect me from being overwhelmed by temptation is comforting. To know that God makes a way out of the temptation is also very comforting. And to know that Jesus went through the same thing without sinning, gives me hope! We are not alone when we are tempted, we have the power living on the inside, His name is Jesus. Look for the way of escape with eyes wide open and run to Him! Let us all be ready to run to the one who makes the way!
