Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."
From the beginning, God has always intended for us to live in community. Every man needs a good woman, and every woman needs a good man. But it also applies to our need for each other as believers. The Bible speaks of members of His church like the parts of the human body. Every part is important! It would be silly for the hand to say to the head "I don't need you", or the head to say to the foot "I can do this without you"! Every part, even though it is different, is essential for us to be fully operational. That's how a strong marriage is built, and that is how a strong church must operate. No one should think of himself as more important because everyone is necessary to accomplish God's mission for the church. Maybe you are guilty of thinking you are better than others, or maybe you are guilty of thinking you are not important to God. Whatever the case, it is not good, it is not right for you to be alone when it comes to the work of God. Get connected with the body of Christ and let's see what the church can do with every part available and operational.
I have struggled with wanting to isolate myself from others when I experienced strong emotions like anger or dissapointment. Not dealing with emotions properly leads us to a disfunctional lifestyle that sows death instead of life. Like prideful behavior, it keeps us away from accepting the truth. And without the truth we are living in darkness, which is depressing and full of fear, worry, and condemnation, which is terrible on our physical health, which brings death to us earlier. And we blame God when He doesn't heal us! We can't expect to live that way and expect God to fix it despite us! Why not pray that God would remove the root of pride from our hearts ? God resists the pride but gives grace to the humble. I know it's not what some our parents did , but look at what happened to them! Surrender can be scarey but it's also very liberating!
