Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
When God rested on the seventh day, it relayed the message that He was finished, and it was a job well done. He looked at all of His creation, and saw that it was very good. Then came sin, and it would appear that God would be caught off guard and man would be hopelessly lost, with the wages of sin as the only future possible. This sin nature passed through Adam and his seed, even including us and everyone not yet born. Is it possible that God missed this disastrous effect? Did the Alpha and Omega not see this coming? Of course He saw it coming, and He also provided the answer. Jesus Christ, His Son, also known as "the lamb slain before the foundation of the world". Did you catch that? Before we needed a Savior, God said "I'll do it"! When I think of that, it really puts things into perspective when I'm tempted to worry about tomorrow because the way I see it, God had me in mind way back in Genesis chapter 2. Amen
It's always encouraging to be reminded that even before God said, "Let there be light", He had a plan already in place to redeem us and give us a way back to his presence. Thank you Jesus!!
ReplyDeleteI was just trying to explain some of these things last night to my children. We was reading from Genesis about the "fall" of man. Actually, today on 93.7 WDJC, the question was asked to the listeners, "why did Jesus have to die for our sins". One man said that He didn't have to, He chose to! Wow! What kind of King would lay His life down for His enemies?! What love is this! What a display of glory and majesty! None can out do what He done, no other act of love will ever be greater! And Jesus did it all for you and me! God has a plan that includes little oh me and you! What an honor to be a vessel to such good news! Teach me Jesus to be the light in this dark world.
