Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
God has already prepared a blessing for you, even though you are currently in the heat of the battle. If we could believe this truth, that God is going to bless us in the presence of our enemies, it would give us an attitude adjustment for sure! God isn't going to wait until after the enemy has come and done his damage. He isn't going to wait until the enemy leaves us broken and battered, no. God is going to allow us to rub it in the face of the enemy by blessing us IN the battle. He anoints our head with oil. This is symbolic of the Holy Spirit, but this also sounds like the royal treatment.............first a feast, and then being anointed.....this must surely cause the devil to be astonished! And finally, our cup runs over. Forget whether or not to look at things as "half full" or "half empty"..........there is no debate, we are overwhelmingly blessed with heavenly blessings. Take that devil!
I get excited over this scripture every time I read it. It puts a grin on my face during a time when my face looks less than happy! LOL! I appreciate the fact that I have the God who lets me feast on His blessings right in front of my enemies! In my minds eye I can just see the enemy restrained from getting any closer than what God has blocked them off from. And all the while they are so defeated and angry because there is nothing they can do about it.Thats what i want to say during the battle, God's blessing me and there is nothing you can do about it! Nanynany ahha!In jesus' name!
