John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ok I know that this is simple, but it's the most powerful scripture in God's Word. "God", the Creator, Almighty, Alpha and Omega, King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords......."so loved", with a love that defies all logic or comprehension, "the world", the people that He created after His own image and likeness...."that He gave", He gave first, not after we repented or changed, but before we ever realized our need for Him, while we were yet sinners......"that whosoever", that means me, you, anybody....."believeth in Him", place your trust in His finished work and surrender your will........"should not perish", death is the number one fear of all men, but God has taken away it's sting and power......"but have everlasting life", that is life the way God intended eternally with Him! Let's meditate on this today.

  1. Just enough so that when I think of how much I love someone, is it truly love? A reality check for me whenever I see this scripture or think of it. Which means I should have this first and foremost in my thoughts daily when thanking god for all he has done in my life and is still doing. The ultimate race of faith . To have this kind of love for all mankind, even those who persecute or treat me in a way my flesh does not like. Come on Jesus more of you. ken

  2. Wow! I really can't fathom this scripture. What an amazing God. God I pray that you grant me a knowledge of your love that passes all knowledge. Amen.

  3. Well when you break it down that way it seems so overwhelming! Thanks! I don't mind being overwhelmed with how much God loves us. These days that keeps me from crying with the kids, if you know what I mean!LOL! I am always blown away by the fact that God's love for us, while we were still His enemy no less, is so great that He would give His one and only Son to die for us! Now that I have a son of my own, I would never give him to my enemy to die for their own ugly, nasty, horrible sins! What kind of God does that! help me to receive such an extremely generous gift, in Jesus' name
