John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Can you imagine someone walking up to a masterpiece like the Mona Lisa and adding a few brush strokes to it? No way! You don't add to a legendary work of art that was painted by a master! To try and add to it would only take away or devalue what was once priceless. Even more so, this truth applies to the finished work of Jesus Christ. Everything that He came to do, everything that He needed to do, He did it, and He did it perfectly! I've been perfectly redeemed, perfectly forgiven, perfectly saved, and I could never add to what He did when He died on an old rugged cross for me. So why do I serve Him? Why do I make sacrifices for Him? Why would I seemingly alter my life in contrary to the ways of this world? Why would I give of my time, and my money to His church? Not so that I could go to heaven........, I strive to do these things because He already paid for me to go. My ticket as been bought and my mansion is being built! When I said "yes" to Jesus, I moved from working for wages, to freely receiving His gift without works, and living a life of thanksgiving. It is still finished.

It's like drinking from an everlasting well of pour water. No longer do I have to dig my own well in order to get to life. I just believe and the waters of life spring up inside of my spirit. The work has been done for me, and all I have to do is come thirsty, open wide and drink! What are we quenching our thirst with? Have you grown complacent or have you lost the thirst for real life? Humble yourself and pray, seek God's face and rivers of living waters will flow from your belly!
