Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion......
We are wonderfully made. Man and woman was made in the very image and likeness of God. God didn't say this about anything else that He made. Not the animals, plants, or any part of creation. When I think about this it is truly humbling to come to the realization that we are that special to God. Not only were we made in His image, we were also made to have dominion over all the earth. We see this in the life of Jesus when He walked the earth. With complete dominion, He commanded the winds and the seas to be still and they obeyed. He multiplied bread and fish to feed thousands, and He even got money out of a fish to pay taxes! Now that's dominion! Now back to us, and how man allowed sin to rob us from the authority that we were created to have. Of course, Jesus came to pay the penalty of our sins and restore us into fellowship with the Father. As Christians, we are to live this life with an unshakeable faith and confidence in the authority of Jesus Christ and His blood that has made us righteous, but what hinders us from doing just that? The same thing that robbed man of his authority in the beginning......sin. Our sins have been washed, but we still allow our sins to keep us defeated much too often. We can not underestimate the damage that sin still delivers to the life of a believer. Let us strive to lay aside the sin that so easily hinders us so that we, instead of sin, can walk in power. Amen

It is truly amazing to know that we are created in GOD'S very own image. God made us "like" Himself, and we were given authority and dominion over the earth. But...... We allow sin to rob us of what is ours, if we really think about it, sin is not worth what it costs us. I agree in the name of Jesus that we would lay aside EVERY sin that hinders us and would walk in the power of Christ our King.
ReplyDeleteThis subject reminds of the prodical son parable. He dosen't see the value in his place as a son, with authority and dominion. God has given us sonship with the same benefits, but if we choose to take our inheritance and use it for the wrong sinful reasons then we will loose them. Let us all return with humble hearts and be empowered to rule and rein as kings and priests of God!
