Isaiah 55:6 Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.

I want to use this Scripture today to talk about prayer in maybe a little different way. Our flesh, or our mind, has a hard time praying sometimes.............it's just the truth. There are times when it is easier to pray, and there are times when it is much more difficult. The problem occurs, however, when we neglect prayer in those times when it is easier, and then when it is harder, but really needed, we find ourselves in a battle of trying to get through. I am not trying to suggest that God can't be found during those difficult times, but I am saying that our mind and emotions can become great obstacles to getting in touch with the Spirit. This is why we must build a solid foundation of consistent prayer, and when we enter into those times when prayer seems to flow like a river, then we need to open up the flood gates and let it flow because seasons change and we need to be established when the fight against our prayer life ramps up. Do you feel like God is beckoning you to His presence in prayer? If so, open your heart and soul to Him and He will fill it up. Do you feel like there is a cap on your prayer life, and it's a struggle to get through? If so, push and push some more, but use this experience to know that you need a solid foundation of prayer to keep you when the fight is on. I would also recommend that you listen to my sermon about "Praying in the Spirit". It can be found on itunes under our Life Worship Center podcasts.

  1. Great sermon wendsday night! I love to pray in the Spirit! It's strange like the bible says but it is very helpful and powerful! I agree with you pastor, we need a consistent prayer life. How many families have ended up in divorce because of the lack of a prayer life? How many men and women walk around today with their heads hanging low in defeat because of the loss of a prayer life? How much money is spent on tring to fix what the devil did through alcoholic moms and dads because they did not have a consistent prayer life. We can not afford to neglect such a much need blessing from God. If we do the enemy will kill, steal, and destroy everything around us. It's happening to our church members right now! Wake up oh sleeper, arise and shine for your light has come!

  2. I have realized that a consistent prayer life builds confidence. Not so much in ourselves but in the fact that we know, whether it's easy to pray or difficult, we are confident God hears us because we are consistently seeking Him.
