GFYD 1-3-12

Philippians 4:6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

Don't fret. Don't have any anxiety. Are you kidding me? That seems almost impossible to do, and really it is, unless you replace the time that you spend worrying with prayer. If you think about it, almost every circumstance can be an opportunity for anxiety. We should also note that every circumstance gives us an opportunity to consult with our Creator. During our pursuit of a consistent prayer life, we can easily be tricked into thinking that an hour of prayer each day is too much to expect with the busy lives that we live, but if we simply take the time to allow God to coach us through each day and make known to Him the desire of our hearts, we will easily build a solid foundation of daily prayer. Today I challenge you to carefully watch for today's opportunities to talk with the One who is able to remove all your anxiety and fears. It is an investment that can't lose. Amen

  1. I think that pastor hit the nail on the head with this one. There is a peace that comes over me when I am praying that takes fear and anxiety and throws it away. I have a emotional change if I am willing to stay in His presence long enough. We must learn to use this method of relief and use it often. We are either getting closer to God or further away. Complacentcy starts to move in when prayer moves out. The excitement for God comes in prayer and depression, fear , and anxiety leaves. It may take several days for the change to stay but that is why we need our prayer life to be consistent.Help me Jesus to pray, show me the hidden opportunities to talk to You!
