John 16:23(NKJV)
And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
As believers, whenever we pray, we usually end our prayer with the phrase “in Jesus name, amen”. How many times do you say “in Jesus name” without actually knowing why you say it? Do you sometimes just say it out of habit, or use it like its some magic phrase that will move your prayer to the top of the list? We are told to pray in the name of Jesus for a specific reason, and it’s the heart of our prayer that matters more than the words of our prayer. We pray in the name of Jesus in order to take ourselves out of the equation. In other words, our prayers will not be answered based on our ability. If we pray and expect an answer because we have been good leading up to our petition, than we are on the wrong track…..it won’t happen. When we pray, we pray in the name of Jesus and in doing so we base the worthiness of our requests upon the holiness of Jesus Christ. When Jesus prayed and then called Lazarus out of the tomb………the man once dead came walking out! The authority of Jesus Christ is greater and higher than all, and it culminates from His perfect righteousness and holiness. The enemy will attack your prayer while you pray it, making you feel as if you don’t deserve to have what you’re asking for and that you are wasting your time in prayer, but by praying in the name of Jesus you will turn the tables on the enemy because the devil cannot dispute the worth of Christ. The next time that you pray, don’t just say “in Jesus name”, believe in your heart that you will receive what you ask because of what Jesus has accomplished through His death and resurrection. In Jesus name………amen.
But what about pray to the father in Jesus name. Should we not try and come to the point when praying that God himself is answering our prayers as soon as we say in Jesus name. The trinity but still says Jesus sits at the right hand of God. How many years did it take before I realized that my prayers were actually going right to God to be answered in his time frame, not mine. Ken
