Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
"Be anxious for nothing".....wow! That's a difficult task to say the least, but the message is clear. You might say "Jonathan, that's easy for you to say! You don't live in my house.... You don't know my children.... You haven't seen my checkbook.... You didn't hear what the doctor said!" The problem with that argument is that I didn't say be anxious for nothing...........Paul did. And when Paul said "be anxious for nothing, he was under house arrest in Rome, and the Jews wanted to kill him! You see, the fact of the matter is this: It wasn't really even Paul that was saying "be anxious for nothing", it was the Holy Spirit. It was God saying it. Maybe you are overwhelmed today with a mountain of sickness, or debt, or some other trouble. Take your requests to God and be honest with Him. Let Him know that you are having a hard time not worrying about your circumstances, and that you need His help. I can promise you that if you do this, the next thing that will happen is exactly what this Scripture says. The "peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind". You won't worry, and you won't even completely understand how or why! Cast all your cares upon the Lord today because He cares for you! Amen.
I need that today, Pastor. Thank you Lord
