GFYD 11-03-11 "Freely Given"

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
It's hard for a lot of people to grasp the idea of grace. It's only natural to think that we must try to earn or deserve what is given to us by God. It might be natural for us to think that way, but we serve a God who is supernatural, and doesn't think that way at all. "Freely given" means just that..........it is given, and it is free! As a matter of fact, the New Covenant teaches us that if it is earned by works then it is no longer grace, and I don't want to even attempt to reach that unreachable mark. It is my belief that we have all kinds of blessings available to us that we fail to receive many times simply because we don't understand the way God gives..........freely. The days of trying, striving and earning God's blessings and victory are over, and the days of freely receiving have come. When was the last time that you pulled up to the table of God's grace and just filled up? You have an open invitation. Amen.
