Rock Solid

Ezra 3:11 With praise and thanks, they sang this song to the LORD: “He is so good! His faithful love for Israel endures forever!” Then all the people gave a great shout, praising the LORD because the foundation of the LORD’s Temple had been laid. I'm not a builder, but I know enough to realize that the foundation is the most important part of a structure. Without a strong foundation, the building is set up for failure from the beginning. The foundation of the Temple being laid was a moment for celebration, as it was a symbol of a new beginning for the previously exiled people of God. But just like the previous Temple, this one too would not last forever. These earthly temples were just a temporary duplicate of the authentic in heaven, but God had plans for building a church that would last forever! Now a church like that would need an incredible foundation, so God used the most valuable thing available......His Son. With a foundation such as Him, God has been building His church for nearly 2000 years. There is no danger of collapse or even shifting. His church is rock solid! "For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ."(1 Corinthians 3:11).
