God Wherever
1 Kings 20:28
Then the man of God went to the king of Israel and said, “This is what the LORD says: The Arameans have said, ‘The LORD is a god of the hills and not of the plains.’ So I will defeat this vast army for you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”
The mountains were a natural advantage when it came time to battle, and the enemies of Israel assumed that Israel's help came only when they fought on the hills. Of course they were wrong in their assumption, and although Israel fought down in the plains or the valley, they still won convincingly. The result of the battle had nothing to do with the altitude at all, but everything to do with the Most High God! This is an incredible source of hope for us, especially when we find ourselves in a spiritual valley. It would be great if we stayed on the mountain top, and maybe some claim to, but I've had my share of valleys. Some were because of bad choices, some not, but I never walked through a valley alone. The point is this, whether I'm down in the dumps, or on top of the world, I will not be defeated because my God is God wherever I am!
