All In

1 Kings 19:21 So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant. When Elisha made the decision to walk in his calling, he went all in. He kissed his parents good bye, then he took the plow that he was using, built a fire, and then sacrificed his oxen. There was no turning back. It's really what God has called all of us to do. To follow Him is to leave the world behind. We become a new person, old things pass away, and all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Some people flinch at this when they look at everything that they would be walking away from, but in reality there is so much more to gain by following Christ! I cannot deny that we do lose some things by choosing Christ. We lose condemnation, bondage and a fear of eternity! It must also be stated that we will gain ridicule and even persecution, but the blessings that come from a life of faith in Him bring more than our eyes can see, more than our ears can hear, and even more than our hearts could ever imagine (1Corinthians 2:9). Go ahead, take a look at everything there is to lose, and everything there is to gain.........then go all in.
