Coming Clean

2 Samuel 12:13 Then David confessed to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” Nathan replied, “Yes, but the LORD has forgiven you, and you won’t die for this sin. Confession. Nothing lifts the weight off like coming clean. I bet David felt 100 pounds lighter after he admitted his guilt to Nathan. Yes, he should have confessed to Uriah instead of going deeper into sin, but he didn't. Yes he should have come clean without having to be confronted by the prophet, but he didn't. He waited longer than he should've, but how many times have we done the same? Maybe it wasn't adultery and murder, but we chose to live under the weight of guilt instead of confessing our sins and having the weight removed. The words of Nathan the prophet should encourage us all to come clean. "Yes, but the Lord has forgiven you.....". It's not too late to come clean. You are still living and breathing, and you still have a future ahead of you. A future that could be spent in freedom instead of bondage, in joy instead of despair. Come on, come clean.

  1. It's like a dam that has too much water behind it. Sooner or later the pressure is going to bring down the wall. God allows us to feel the pressure of conviction until the walls of our pride and secrecy come tumbling down with confession. The waters flows over the land washing away the guilt and condemnation of our sinful behavior. LET IT RAIN!! Convict us with Godly sorrow!
