Seek to be Meek

Numbers 12:3 Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth. Moses was perhaps one of the greatest leaders ever. He led over a million people out of Egyptian bondage, and all the way to the border of their promised land. God did mighty miracles through Moses, and Moses was even allowed to see the back side of God as He passed by. Now with all of this in mind, what was the trait that separated him from others? It was meekness. Our scripture says that Moses was very meek, more so than anyone else on the planet. This amazing fact about Moses makes me wonder if we haven't got it backwards sometimes. The world, and even the church sometimes defines a leader as someone who is bold and arrogant, confident and proud. We don't usually use the word meek to describe leaders. Meek is usually used to describe someone who will follow and serve. I've seen a few ministers that were not meek at all, and actually seem to use their arrogance as an authoritative tool to persuade people to follow them. In my opinion, if anyone had the right to be arrogant or proud, it would have been Moses. We must never try to replace the anointing with loud and proud words that puff us up and belittle others. Sure, you might be able to get the super religious to follow you, but a showy preacher doesn't draw the unbelievers to Christ, he turns them away. You can and should lead with meekness. Now meekness does not mean weakness, as a matter of fact, those who are meek are promised an enormous inheritance (Matthew 5:5). And just in case you thought that Moses was an exception when it comes to traits of leadership, there is another guy who was called meek and lowly. His name is Jesus (Matthew 11:29). Let us seek to be meek!

  2. Meek-HUMBLE- are they the same ?- look at what Mother Teresa did in her life- what an example of "The Light Shining" The worl has different classes for leaders- Great leaders have what they call a class A personality. That is where people will follow what ever they say or do or suggest. Another example- Pastor Johnathan- Would I call him a class A personality? No- I would call him HUMBLE- To Strive To Be As Christ In Our Walk- To Be A Peacemaker- To Not Cause strife- Humble- Think of who you personally know and then think of your own attributes- I have- Is there room for improvement- Oh Yeah so what do I do next- Pray listen pray listen find my faults pray again uplift our fellow man or woman . Oh yeah Billy you are humble also. Pray for boldness, ken I could list many more from church here but better that I do not.

  3. Meekness is not a trait that the old Matthew was comfortable with. Arrogance and pride was the way I survived the world that I lived in. I didn't feel comfortable being the idea of meek that I had. I was afraid that people would not like me or that they would take advantage of me. The funny thing is that now I couldn't care less that if people like me, and peolpe do mistreat me and disrespect me and try to take adavntage of the good nature that God has given me. But, it dosen't take a thing away from me! God works it all together for my good! Meekness is not weakness! Wow! That's not the truth in the world's system huh!
