No More Complaining!
"No More Complaining!"
Numbers 11:1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord.....
I know you have heard the saying "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything". Now there is a time to let your voice be heard in a critical way when it pertains to government or people, when by doing so, positive change takes place. This was not the case for the children of Israel, however, as their complaints were directed at Moses and more specifically, God. It's really tough for me to see the phrase "it displeased the Lord". I must admit that one of my biggest battles is getting over the times when I felt that I disappointed God. I never want to have Him displeased with me, ever, but I don't always "feel" like He's overjoyed and thrilled about my life. I guess that's why I've always tried my best not to complain, and sometimes struggle being around people who seem to complain a lot. Complaining is a sign of doubt, and is a sure sign of a faith problem. The Bible says that it is impossible to please Him without faith (Hebrews11:6), and complaining takes it to a whole new level. Before we say that God wasn't being fair to be displeased and unleash His anger against Israel for just complaining, take a closer look at their journey. God brought them out of bondage in a miraculous way with signs and wonders. He cared for them and provided for them every step of the way. God was even preserving their shoes and clothing so that they wouldn't wear out! God was doing everything and supplying everything that they needed to get them to their place of promise. Now can we blame Him for being disappointed about complaining? Have you ever done your very best for someone only to find that it wasn't enough? Disappointing isn't it? Our heavenly Father has given us His best in His Son, and the work that He did on Calvary was enough! Lord I pray that my faith will bring positive and constructive words out of my mouth that will inspire people to trust Him. No more complaining!

Philippians 2:14 tells us to do everything without complaining. Wow!! When I think about it I complain a lot more than I'd like to admit. But if I really examine my life there is absolutely nothing I can complain about. My prayer today is that I would live and talk in a way that will glorify God and encourage those around me....... WITHOUT COMPLAINING...... But instead praising God and thanking God in every situation.
ReplyDeleteI have prayed with people who even in their request complaints were uttered. Then they want God to work in the situation..I don't know about you but when my children are complaining I don't want to do anything for them at all. I'm not God and I don't think that I could over look their grumbeling about mana again! then give them more the next day.I guess that where Grace and Mercy comes in...and don't we all need more of that daily. This weeks life group l;esson is about praising God in everything beginning and end. IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS! Diane
