Unspiritual Prayer

Exodus 33:11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.  How does God want us to talk to Him? How does He want to talk to us? Well, I'm sure that there isn't only way to do it, but we get some great insight in our verse today. Moses went into the tabernacle, and God followed him in where He spoke to Moses. It's easy to imagine that conversation to sound like the Wizard of Oz talking to Dorothy in some deep, very loud and scary voice, but that wasn't what happened. Instead, God spoke to Moses face to face, as a man talks to his friend. It's the same way that Jesus would communicate to people when He came to redeem us. My best prayer times are not always intense cries or calling out to God with desperation. Instead, it's those times when me and God "chat" like good friends do. I'm not trying in any way to make light of the holiness of God, and the reverence that He deserves, but when we speak with repetitive words in a religious tone just because that's what we think sounds right to other people, then we are missing the point of prayer altogether. Sincerity is the key when we speak to God, and a sincere prayer can have many different sounds. I just think that it's cool to have Jehovah speaking to Moses in a way that would seem unspiritual by many. To me, its a picture of how it must have been in the Garden of Eden, and how it will be in the new Jerusalem, and believe it or not, how it could be for you this morning :)
