Exodus
23:22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I
will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.
I don't know everything that there is to know about God. I know that He is mighty, but I can't even begin to fully comprehend His power. I do know enough about His strength to understand that I don't want to be His enemy. I want to be His friend! How would you like to walk through life knowing that everyone that decided to be your enemy was signing up for God's hit list? This was the promise that God gave to Israel. He told them that if they heard and obeyed His voice, He would become an enemy to all of their enemies and an adversary to all of their adversaries. Basically, everyone that took a notion to attack God's people, would end up like the Egyptians, sleeping with the fishes. Israel was beginning to see God as a jealous God. He wanted all of their love, and in return, He gave them complete protection. God wasn't all bark with no bite either! Word would eventually spread across the land that it wasn't a smart thing to mess with the children of Israel! We need to realize that our God is still a jealous God. He desires our love....our first and our best! And He loves us with a great love, and His enduring love for us turns into anger against the enemy of our soul. The devil knows that messing with us is a bad idea, and it's about time that we believed it too!

I have never really thought about God as an enemy to anyone at all but that's cool! It feels good to know that God loves me that much and that it's ok for me to be an enemy to the enemy as well. God's really awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to do the HAHAHA-HEHEHE-HOHOHO laugh at the devil! It sure is good to know we can't lose. Even in tomorrow's problems, we already have victory!! How awesome of a trade is our empty, useless, sinful lives for God's PERFECT plan and 100% victory in every single trial we go through? I'll take it. Praise the Lord!
