Exodus 2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
God never forgets His covenants or promises. The word "remember" in this verse means that God thought upon His covenant, or He called it to His mind. The Hebrew people had been in Egypt for several hundred years, and now God's perfect time had come. The cries of God's people were heard by Him and He thought upon the covenant that He unilaterally established with Abraham. It is easy to believe this when it concerns Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but what about me? It is still overwhelming to me to know that God thinks about me and the promises that He made concerning me, but He does! He promised to never leave me or forsake me, He promised to finish the work that He started in me, He promised to present me before the Father clothed with His righteousness......and that's only a drop in the bucket! I guess when I think about it, I shouldn't worry about God remembering, instead I should pray that I never forget His precious promises and His everlasting covenant that was ratified with His own blood. Thanks for reminding me again this morning Lord. Amen
I'm so thankful God isn't forgetful. I'm also glad that God doesn't change. God remembers His covenant and promises, He doesn't see His people or myself and then change His mind about us...... He remembers!!
