Grace For Your Day 1-11-12

Psalm 32: 6
For this [forgiveness] let everyone who is godly pray--pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely when the great waters [of trial] overflow, they shall not reach [the spirit in] him.

We must never lose sight of the necessity of consistent prayer, not just in times of great trial, but also in times of great success and abundance. The time in which He may be found speaks of the times when prayer comes easier and our heart and mind is open and receptive to the Spirit. The purpose in building consistency during these times is because we all know too well that the great waters of trial are sure to overflow from time to time. It is when the flood comes that we discover the marvelous truth of the power of covering our homes in prayer. The promise here is that although the waters may overflow, they shall not overwhelm our spirits, and we will withstand the storm! I'm reminded of Isaiah 59:19 where the Lord says "when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift a standard against him"! I can't help but feel the strong desire now to cover my kids with prayer, and to cover my spouse with prayer, and to cover my friends and family with prayer. Can anyone dispute that we need to cover our nation in prayer? It is my prayer today that you begin to see the utmost importance of covering you and your loved ones in prayer, and while you are at it, say a prayer for me! Amen.

  1. We fail to realize what our prayers do, and therefore; we fail to be consistent. It's a humble, yet powerful experience.

  2. Yes we need to pray a consistent covering over our family especially, but never forget to include the whole family of God. The Church. So many times I have prayed for what my family needed and then to be prodded by the spirit to not forget others, If we learn to walk in Gods true love we will automatically cover everyone , even those we do not want to. While praying take some oil and walk around your home or property and plead the BLOOD of JESUS over what God is letting you be a steward of. He will honor that. No weapon formed against you shall prosper- we need to remember this covers physical and spiritual both. Seems the more satan attacks in the spirit the closer we are getting to God. the devil is just to stupid to stop.

  3. Consistent prayer keeps our eyes on Jesus so we can walk on water while the storm is raging. Our emotions are stirred up during trials and we need an anchor to keep us from drifting away from God's will. Prayer connects our mind to the anchor, the hope of glory, Jesus Christ! Being consistent with a prayer life is a practice that makes perfect the response of a believer. Without it spiritual maturity is minimized and everything that God has given us is at risk! Let us pray!
