GFYD 2-1-12

Exodus  4:2 So the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?"

God truly did great things through Moses, and for many of those miracles, God used the rod or staff in the hand of Moses. I feel as if God is asking us today, "what is in your hand?". It's easy for us to think that if we only had more of this, or more of that, then we could really do what God has called us to do. I must admit that I have used this excuse in my own life and ministry in the past. I pray that I never fall back into that mindset ever again! God is not asking us to do something without equipping us to do it. If He is calling you to do a work for Him, then you have what you need, and when you need more, He will provide it. We are the people of God, and as His people, He will not send us out without also providing everything that we need to perform the mission that He Himself commissioned. So, what is in your hand? Money? Talent to sing, preach, teach, encourage, discern? A practical skill or trade? Whatever it is that you have, stop waiting for more and let God use it! I believe that if you will use the little that you have, God will increase what you have in order to do more. For instance, If I am letting my lack of finances keep me from giving to God, then I may never come to that place of seeing enough to enable me to give the way that I desire. On the other hand, if I give to God out of the little that I have, I truly believe that He will bring increase into my life so that I can give more as He leads me. If I have a God-given ability to encourage others, then I should not wait for a bigger platform before I use my gift, I should be ready to encourage whomever God should place in my path on any given day. Like anyone, I desire to impact the lives of many, but am I willing and ready to impact the life of one when needed? I pray today that God will show you what He's placed in your hand, and that you will get to work asap! Amen

  1. Yes I agree God will never give us more than we can handle. But when he opens the doors for us we must take that first step, whether we have what we would think we need. Our faith must be set free so God can work. If God can feed over 1 million people for 40 years- just think what he can do for and thru us with whatever he puts in our hand [heart].

  2. I also agree with both Ken and the pastor, God always provides. As long as we receive a confirmation from God and we ask others, starting from our pastor, before we go out to minister. I have saw people fail at new ministries because the wouldn't communicate with their leaders properly. But when it's God then we will have the blessing of the pastor as well as provision from God. At least, that's how I see it.
