GFYD 1-14-12

Isaiah 65: 24
And it shall be that before they call I will answer; and while they are yet speaking I will hear.

I have seen this scripture happen many times as a pastor. The sermon is preached, and the invitation is given. From the back of the church someone steps out of the aisle, with tears running down their face. They begin their walk toward the front of the church in response to the invitation to receive Christ, and you can see the sincerity of their heart making itself known by the expression on their face. They kneel at the altar and begin to pour their heart out unto God, and you can see the weight of sin and despair lift off their shoulders and conscience. The amazing thing about this experience is that you can actually see God at work in their life before they ever make it all the way down the aisle. Their heart has said "yes" to God before their mouth says it at the altar, and God's Holy Spirit begins to work before I ever pray with them the sinner's prayer! It makes me wonder if this is true in other areas of my life. How many things has God already said "yes" to concerning me, and He is just waiting on the formality of my heart and mouth coming into agreement with my faith? It really isn't too farfetched when you consider that He is the Alpha and Omega! When you pray today, ask God to help you ask for the things that He has already said "yes" to and start receiving what He has already given. Amen.

  1. What a humbling thought, to not have something amazing from God that is already mine. It's a little scarey but exciting as well.I normaly don't ask for this but today I will. I am curious, thanks Jesus.
