Mark 11:17 "Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’ ? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”
In this passage, Jesus ran out the the people who were selling sacrifices in the temple. They were taking advantage of the people. He said that His house was to be called a "house of prayer". Let's look at this from another angle today. The New Covenant declares that we, the people of God, have become the temple of the Holy Spirit. In other words, instead of dwelling in a building, God dwells within us! Now, in light of this Scripture, what kind of house is God dwelling in? Is your body a house of prayer? If not, it's probably a den of thieves. If we choose to forsake prayer, we are robbed from so many blessings that God wants to pour into our lives, but if we make our temples houses of prayer, then our relationship with God grows and increases in the fruit of the Spirit. As a temple of God's Holy Spirit, your first priority should be prayer. Amen.
